NANJING, China – As global precision investment casting industries face rising demand for complex geometries, tighter dimensional tolerances and greener production practices, traditional shell removal methods are increasingly struggling to keep pace. Addressing this industry gap, Fedjetting, a leading Chinese national high-tech enterprise with deep expertise in ultra-high pressure waterjet technology and industrial automation, has introduced its upgraded full line of high-pressure water deshelling systems, delivering a highly efficient, non-damaging and sustainable alternative for foundries worldwide.
Founded in 2012 and headquartered in Nanjing, Fedjetting holds certifications as a National High-Tech Enterprise, National Science and Technology-Based SME, and Provincial Specialized, Refined, Differential and Innovative (SRDI) SME. The company focuses on the R&D and manufacturing of automated, intelligent ultra-high pressure water application solutions, serving a global client base across aerospace, semiconductor, new energy, automotive, medical device and other advanced manufacturing sectors. Guided by its core philosophy of “creating customer value through technological innovation”, Fedjetting continues to push the boundaries of industrial waterjet technology.
At the core of Fedjetting’s deshelling solution is mature ultra-high pressure waterjet technology. Powered by a high-performance plunger pump as the core power unit, the system pressurizes standard tap water to 600–1400 bar, delivering a concentrated single-orifice linear jet through a self-driven rotating nozzle structure. By programming the jet’s travel path in either manual or automatic mode, the system achieves uniform full-surface coverage, translating precise point-by-point impact into consistent large-area processing.
Unlike traditional mechanical blasting, chemical stripping or manual chiseling, the high-pressure water jet acts exclusively on the ceramic mold shell, exerting no mechanical stress on the underlying casting workpiece. This non-contact approach ensures zero damage to delicate features, complex internal cavities and thin-walled structures — a critical advantage for high-precision components. The process also eliminates hazardous chemical waste and reduces airborne dust emissions, fully aligning with global green manufacturing and environmental compliance standards.
To match varying production volumes, workpiece complexities and operational setups, Fedjetting offers three tailored system configurations:
The systems are engineered to meet the stringent quality requirements of high-end precision casting sectors:
“For precision foundries, shell removal has long been a bottleneck that limits both production throughput and final part quality,” said a spokesperson for Fedjetting. “Our ultra-high pressure waterjet deshelling technology is built to solve exactly that — combining our decade-long expertise in waterjet systems and industrial automation to deliver a solution that boosts efficiency, protects workpiece integrity and lowers environmental impact. We are committed to supporting global foundry customers in their transition to smarter, greener advanced manufacturing.”
Fedjetting’s high-pressure water deshelling systems are currently available for global order, with full custom engineering services to meet specific production line and application requirements.
